Vice President Viengthong Siphandone received a farewell call from Jung Yung-soo, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Lao PDR, on June 29, marking the successful completion of his diplomatic mission in Laos.
During the meeting, the Vice President highly commended Ambassador Jung's contributions to strengthening the longstanding friendship and expanding cooperation between Laos and the Republic of Korea. She noted that his tenure had helped deepen bilateral relations across a wide range of sectors, contributing to the growing Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
Mrs. Viengthong expressed confidence that the friendly relations and cooperation between Laos and the Republic of Korea would continue to advance in the years ahead. She also conveyed her best wishes to Ambassador Jung for a safe return home and every success in his future responsibilities.
Ambassador Jung expressed his sincere appreciation to the Vice President for the warm reception and thanked the Party, Government and people of the Lao PDR for their cooperation, support and hospitality throughout his assignment. He said the assistance extended by Lao authorities had enabled him to carry out his duties successfully and further strengthen the close ties between the two countries.
Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to further enhancing the friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between Laos and the Republic of Korea.
