Soukchaleun Farm Company Limited is expanding its integrated chicken egg production chain to strengthen domestic supply, reduce production costs and provide more reliable support to layer farmers.
Mr. Bounyalith Soukchaleun, President of Soukchaleun Farm Company Limited, told the Lao News Agency on August 12 that the company is developing an integrated system covering parent stock, chicks, pullets and animal feed. The approach is intended to improve control over production quality, poultry health, hygiene and costs while allowing output to better match market demand.
The company is currently developing its own parent stock to supply quality chicks at affordable prices. It plans to begin selling 18-week-old pullets to farmers in 2027, accompanied by technical guidance on poultry management, vaccination, disease prevention, cost reduction and productivity improvement. A potential egg buy-back scheme is also being considered to help farmers manage market risks.
Soukchaleun Farm operates two major production bases in Champasak Province and Nasaythong District, Vientiane Capital, with about 500,000 laying hens at each site. Using modern closed-system facilities, the farms currently produce approximately 900,000 eggs per day, or about 90% of combined capacity.
The company plans to develop its own feed production and expand production support and market access for farmers.
The initiative is expected to strengthen domestic food supply, create employment and support the development of a more stable poultry production chain in Laos.
