The leadership of Xiengkhoung Province paid tribute to Mr. Xaysomphone Phomvihane, Politburo member of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President of the National Assembly of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, who passed away on August 8.
At the National Convention Hall in Vientiane on August 11, the Xiengkhoung Provincial Party Committee, the National Assembly delegation representing Constituency No. 13, and the Xiengkhoung Provincial People’s Council attended a memorial ceremony to lay a wreath and sign the condolence book in honour of the late leader.
The delegation was led by Mr. Phouvong Ounsengkham, a member of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, Secretary of the Xiengkhoung Provincial Party Committee, and President of the Xiengkhoung Provincial People’s Council.
The ceremony expressed the delegation’s profound respect and deepest condolences for the passing of Mr. Xaysomphone, while also commemorating his contributions and lifelong dedication to the nation and its people.
Throughout his career, Mr. Xaysomphone devoted his knowledge, wisdom, energy and capabilities to the cause of safeguarding, building and developing the country. His service was dedicated to promoting national development, social harmony, prosperity and justice, as well as improving the well-being of the Lao people of all ethnic groups.
The Xiengkhoung delegation’s tribute reflected its deep appreciation for his contributions, achievements and lifelong revolutionary service, as well as its condolences to his family, colleagues and the Lao people following his passing.
