Art, literature at Casa de las Americas’ agenda in November

(KPL/Prensa Latina) Music, literature, visual arts, and intellectual discussions are on the agenda of Casa de las Americas cultural institution in Havana this November.

The lecture “The Legacy of Fidel Castro: A Dialogue for Justice” will take place with intellectual and president of the institution, Abel Prieto, at Manuel Galich Hall on Friday, while Espacio Sonoro, a collaboration with the National Electroacoustic Music Laboratory, will feature Danilo Guerrero, Director of Music Programs at Radio Holguin station, on Friday afternoon.

The Manuel Galich Hall will launch on November 10 the books “Cortafuegos. Palabras Que Arden Contra El Fascismo” and “Amapolas rojas. Contra el genocidio en Gaza”, published by Acercandonos Ediciones, from Argentina.

Meanwhile, the Mariano Gallery will open on November 13 the Mexican folk art exhibition “Alebrijes, Diablitos y Otros Seres Fantasticos,” featuring Cuban artist Kevin Oramas. The display will remain open until January 26, 2026.

The Che Guevara Hall will host a concert on November 14 on the 30th anniversary of the Musica Eterna Chamber Orchestra.

The visual arts will delight again on November 24 with the opening of an exhibition by women artists from Boston, in collaboration with the Visual Arts section of the National Union of Cuban Writers and Artists (UNEAC), until December 23 on the institution’s second floor. The Conjunto magazine No. 216-217 will be launched at the Manuel Galich Hall on November 27, while the Roberto Fernandez Retamar Library will host on November 27-28 the workshop “Crear para Aprender. Moviendo la Inclusion: Manos de Papel” by Professor Pavel Valdes.
