(KPL) Candidates for the 10th National Assembly (NA) and the 5th Provincial People’s Council (PPC) on February 5, 2026, officially began their campaign and meetings with members of the National Defence and Public Security forces, including the Lao People’s Army and the Police, in Savannakhet Province.

The campaign delegation was led by Bounchom Oubonpaseuth, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Savannakhet Provincial Party Committee, together with the slate of candidates.

At the meeting, the candidates introduced themselves to the electorate, presenting their backgrounds, professional experience and previous contributions, as well as their commitment to faithfully represent the rights and interests of the people in the legislative bodies.

Speaking at the event, Bounchom Oubonpaseuth emphasised the importance of implementing the four core objectives for the upcoming elections. These include ensuring full voter participation, complete legal validity of ballots, absolute safety and security throughout the electoral process, and the successful and efficient organisation of the elections.

He called on members of the armed forces and security agencies to uphold their responsibilities and to actively contribute to the smooth, orderly and lawful conduct of the elections.

The leadership also urged all personnel and citizens to make thorough preparations for election day on February 22, 2026, and encouraged parents, civil servants, soldiers and the general public to turn out in full to elect capable representatives who will contribute to the development of Savannakhet Province and the continued prosperity of the nation.
