Savannakhet Honors President Kaysone Phomvihane with Alms-Giving Ceremony

ຂປລ Provincial leaders and members of the public participated in a solemn alms-giving ceremony on 13 December to commemorate the 105th birthday of President Kaysone Phomvihane (13 December 1920 – 13 December 2025), the revered founding leader of the Lao PDR.


Attendees included Mr. Bounnyang Vorachith, former President of the Lao PDR, Mr. Sinlavong Khoutphaythoun, President of the Lao Front for National Development; Mr. Bounchom Oubonpaseuth, Governor of Savannakhet Province, 105 senior monk and numerous local residents.

The event honored President Kaysone’s enduring legacy in nurturing the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, leading the nation’s liberation struggle, establishing the revolutionary armed forces, and achieving the independence of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic on 2 December 1975.
