ຂປລ President Thongloun Sisoulith of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Lee Jae-myung following his election as President of the Republic of Korea, on June 4, 2025.

(KPL) President Thongloun Sisoulith of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Lee Jae-myung following his election as President of the Republic of Korea, on June 4, 2025.

In an official message, President Thongloun expressed his "great joy and sincere congratulations" on President Lee’s victory and assumption of office. He emphasized the significance of 2025 as a milestone year, marking the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Laos and the Republic of Korea.

“This anniversary represents an important opportunity to further strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between our two nations,” the message read. President Thongloun reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with President Lee to elevate bilateral relations to new heights and deliver greater benefits to the peoples of both countries.

The Lao leader also expressed his hopes for continued peace, stability, and development across the region and the world. He concluded by wishing President Lee good health, happiness, and success in his leadership role.
