(KPL) Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Mr. Linkham Douangsavanh recently led a Lao delegation on an official visit to Brunei Darussalam to attend the 2nd Lao-Brunei Bilateral Cooperation Committee Meeting and other related events, reinforcing agricultural collaboration between the two nations.

As part of the visit, Mr. Linkham paid a courtesy call on His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah to convey the warm greetings of the President, Prime Minister, government, and people of Laos. He also reported on the objectives of the visit and reaffirmed Laos’ commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.

The delegation held a bilateral meeting with Brunei's Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism to review past cooperation and discuss future collaboration between the two ministries. The talks focused on advancing investment and trade in agriculture, with emphasis on implementing outcomes from the 2nd Joint Working Committee (JWC) meeting and encouraging the participation of entrepreneurs from both countries.

Additionally, the Lao delegation took part in the 2nd Lao-Brunei Bilateral Cooperation Committee Meeting and the Lao-Brunei Business Forum. The forum provided a platform for the private sector to explore joint business opportunities, particularly the export of Lao agricultural products to Brunei, with support from both governments.

During the visit, the delegation toured several of Brunei’s key production facilities, including hydroponic vegetable farms and aquaculture operations specializing in shrimp and fish farming.
