(KPL) Chanthabuly District Police Command is intensifying 24-hour operations to ensure preparedness for emergencies during the transition to the International New Year 2025. The focus is to foster joy, peace, safety, and public order during New Year celebration.

Pol. Lt. Col. Phonmany Surinnaphone, Deputy Chief of the Chanthabuly District Police Command, shared in an interview on December 30, 2024, that the police are dedicated to maintaining peace and order during the year-end festivities. This includes appointing special task forces at key intersections to facilitate smooth traffic flow and rapid emergency response.

The police have coordinated efforts with village cluster authorities and local administrations, deploying patrol teams to monitor roads and high-risk areas. Additionally, collaboration with central police and neighboring district forces is in place to secure Patuxay Park, the central gathering site for Vientiane’s New Year celebrations.

Mr. Phonmany urged citizens to respect and follow laws, directives, and traffic regulations. He emphasized the importance of avoiding driving under the influence and adhering to police instructions to prevent accidents. He also advised the public to safeguard their homes by extinguishing candles and incense before leaving for celebrations.

Residents are encouraged to actively contribute to maintaining peace by refraining from selling or igniting fireworks and firecrackers. “Public cooperation is essential for a safe and enjoyable New Year celebration,” added Mr. Phonmany.
