(KPL) The National Assembly (NA) held a meeting to disseminate the outcomes of the 45th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-45) in the presence of Ms. Sounthone Sayachak, Deputy President of the National Assembly.
Attending the event were executive committee members, primary and affiliated party units, NA party members, and NA officials.
Mr. Sanya Praseuth, Chairman of the National Assembly’s Commission on Foreign Affairs, stated, “The 45th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly was held under the theme ‘The Role of Parliament in Promoting ASEAN Integration and Comprehensive Growth.’ Hosting this regional event marks Laos’ commitment to its international obligations as a full AIPA member and provides a valuable platform to advance the Lao PDR’s policy of transforming from a landlocked to a connected nation while enhancing cooperation with AIPA member parliaments and other partners.”
On this occasion, Ms. Sounthone Sayachack stated, "Hosting the 45th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary General Assembly is a politically significant event not only for the National Assembly of Laos but also for our country, providing a forum for discussion on crucial regional and international issues. Nearly 40 resolutions were adopted, with various bilateral and multilateral meetings conducted, further raising the influence of Laos and the National Assembly on regional and global platforms."

At the same event, Ms. Amphaivone Lompbounpheng, Secretary of the National Assembly, provided an update on preparations for the 8th Ordinary Session of the 9th National Assembly, scheduled from mid-November to early December 2024.
