(KPL) China has invested more than 900 projects worth more than 13 billion US dollars in Lao PDR.

The Minister of Planning and Investment, Mr. Khamjen Vongphosi said at the the 7th exchange meeting between the Lao government and Chinese businessmen was held in Vientiane on November 14.

Currently, China is the number 1 invested in Lao PDR in all sectors have more than 900 projects with a total value of more than 13 billion US dollars, which is the country with the highest investment value in Lao PDR.

 In 2022, there are investments from China that have invested in the control of activities and concessions in all 30 companies with a total investment value of 339 million US dollars, including investment in the mining sector, 18 energy projects and 1 project, consulting service sector, 3 projects, industry and crafts, 6 projects, public health, 1 project, other sectors, 2 projects.

The meeting was co-chaired by Minister of Planning and Investment Mr. Khamjen Vongphosi, and the temporary ambassador of the Chinese Embassy in the Lao PDR Mr. Bang Chang, with the deputy minister, the representative of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, representing Chinese enterprises and related parties from both sides.

The purpose of this meeting is to report the conveniences, difficulties and proposals of Chinese enterprises that are doing business in the Lao PDR. It is also a good opportunity for the two sides to meet and exchange opinions directly and to find solutions together in order to improve the business environment.
