Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung arrived in Vientiane on Thursday, accompanied by a high-level delegation, to begin an official visit to the Lao PDR from October 8–9.
The Vietnamese Prime Minister and his delegation arrived at Wattay International Airport, where a warm and dignified welcoming ceremony was held by Lao officials.
The welcoming delegation was led by Bouakhong Nammavong, Minister and Head of the Prime Minister’s Office of the Lao PDR. Also present were Maithong Thammavongsa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Phokham Xayasone, Vice Chairman of the Vientiane Administration Committee; the Ambassadors of Laos and Vietnam; and representatives of relevant agencies from both countries.
The official visit is being made at the invitation of Saleumxay Kommasith, Prime Minister of the Lao PDR.
During the two-day visit, the two sides are expected to further strengthen the longstanding relations between Laos and Vietnam, with particular emphasis on their great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic partnership.
The visit reflects the close and enduring ties between the two neighbouring countries and their continued commitment to deepening cooperation across a wide range of areas. It is also expected to contribute to further advancing the Laos–Vietnam and Vietnam–Laos relationship, ensuring that their traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation continue to grow and produce increasingly substantive results.
