The Lao-German Technical College (LGTC) has announced a full waiver of tuition and other fees for female students enrolling in all majors for the 2026–2027 academic year, in an effort to expand women’s access to vocational education, particularly in technical and industrial fields.

(KPL) The Lao-German Technical College (LGTC) has announced a full waiver of tuition and other fees for female students enrolling in all majors for the 2026–2027 academic year, in an effort to expand women’s access to vocational education, particularly in technical and industrial fields.
Mr. Souliya Paxai, Director of LGTC, said the college, established in 1964, currently offers 15 vocational majors under five departments and works with more than 100 enterprises through its dual-education programme.
Last academic year, the college enrolled 1,428 students, including 67 women, and graduated 486 students. For 2026–2027, it aims to admit more than 800 new students, with over 1,000 applications received as of August 26.
A total of 604 applicants registered for entrance examinations in automotive technology and heavy machinery, competing for 300 places, while 434 applicants applied for 13 other certificate and higher diploma programmes.
Female applicants can benefit from the full fee waiver, with applications remaining open until mid-September.
Classes for returning students begin on September 7, while first-year students will begin classes on October 5, 2026.
Mr. Souliya encouraged school graduates to consider vocational education as a pathway to stable and long-term employment.
