Lao Leaders Extend Congratulations to Malaysia on 60th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations

ຂປລ President Thongloun Sisoulith on July 3 extended a congratulatory message to His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Lao People's Democratic Republic and Malaysia.


In his message, President Thongloun conveyed warm congratulations and best wishes to His Majesty and the people of Malaysia on behalf of the Lao people and in his own name.
The President noted with satisfaction that, over the past six decades, the longstanding friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between the Lao PDR and Malaysia have continued to deepen and expand across a wide range of sectors. He expressed confidence that, through the continued joint efforts of both countries, bilateral relations would be further strengthened in both bilateral and multilateral frameworks, particularly within ASEAN, bringing greater benefits to the peoples of the two nations while contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, and sustainable development in the region and beyond.
President Thongloun also conveyed his best wishes to His Majesty for good health and happiness, and expressed his hope for the continued peace, progress, and prosperity of the people of Malaysia under His Majesty's reign.
On the same occasion, Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone sent a congratulatory message to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, while Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Thongsavanh Phomvihane extended congratulations to Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamad bin Haji Hasan.
The exchange of congratulatory messages underscores the enduring friendship between the Lao PDR and Malaysia and reaffirms the shared commitment of both countries to further strengthening bilateral cooperation as they commemorate six decades of diplomatic relations.
