(KPL) Authorities in the capital met Monday to review a range of priority issues, including disaster relief, economic measures, and urban development plans.

The 56th administration meeting was held at the Vientiane Administration Office and chaired by Sililadthongsin Thongpheng, with vice chairmen and committee members in attendance.

Officials discussed 12 key agenda items aimed at improving public welfare and supporting the city’s development.

Among the priorities was ongoing assistance for families affected by recent natural disasters in Sikhottabong and Nasaythong districts, where 17 villages have been impacted.

Preparations for the upcoming Lao New Year were also reviewed, alongside measures to ease the impact of rising fuel prices.

The meeting addressed compensation standards related to infrastructure projects, agriculture, and development in the Nam Hum catchment area, as well as land pricing for a planned 316-hectare industrial park project in Nasaythong District.

Urban infrastructure plans were also on the agenda, including progress on a proposed Bus Rapid Transit system and a draft agreement on parking management in the capital.

Officials discussed steps toward digitalizing government administration, improving oversight of entertainment venues, and developing a designated night-time economic zone along 450 Year Road in Xaysettha District.

A proposal to establish a night market by Huaxin Development Co., Ltd. was also reviewed.

The meeting concluded with a summary of key developments in March and a focus plan for April 2026, with participants providing input to ensure effective implementation of policies and projects
