State Telecom Reports Strong 2025 Results, Targets Higher Revenue Next Year

(KPL) On Feb 20, 2026, Lao Telecommunications Public Company held its 2025 Annual Performance Review Meeting at its headquarters in Vientiane Capital, highlighting strong business results, nationwide network expansion, and a 2026 strategy focused on revenue growth and digital service development.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Souphon Chanthavixay, Director General of Lao Telecom, and attended by Dr. Santisouk Simmalavong, Minister of Technology and Communications, along with 274 delegates from central operations, provincial branches, T-Plus Company, and Lao Mobile Money Company Limited.

Presenting the report, Deputy Director General Mr. Alounnadeth Banchit highlighted key achievements in 2025, including network infrastructure investment totaling US$17.78 million. The company operates nationwide 2G, 3G, 4G, and 4.5G coverage, provides 5G services in major cities, and offers FTTH services across the country.

Lao Telecom currently serves more than 3.1 million active Mobile Broadband and Fixed Broadband subscribers. In 2025, the company generated total revenue of 2,489.35 billion kip (excluding tax) and contributed 586.16 billion kip to the state budget.

The company also continued to strengthen employee welfare policies and contributed over 6.62 billion kip in support to Party-state organizations, social initiatives, education, and the 12th National Party Congress. In addition, it provided equipment and internet connectivity for distance learning and remote meetings for several state organizations, valued at 11.5 billion kip.

For 2026, Lao Telecom aims to retain its customer base, expand new users, and increase total revenue to over 2,600 billion kip, with projected state contributions exceeding 590 billion kip. The company also plans continued investment in Mobile Broadband, Fixed Broadband, and digital platforms to enhance service quality, data security, and system modernization in support of the “Lao Digital Life” vision.
