Consultation Meeting Held to Prepare for Hosting AMMSTI-22

ຂປລ The Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES) held a consultation meeting on February 2, 2026, to review progress and preparations for hosting the 22nd ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Science, Technology, and Innovation (AMMSTI-22), scheduled to take place in June 2026.

 

(KPL) The Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES) held a consultation meeting on February 2, 2026, to review progress and preparations for hosting the 22nd ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Science, Technology, and Innovation (AMMSTI-22), scheduled to take place in June 2026.

The meeting was held at the Ministry and chaired by Mr. Kingmano Phommachack, Vice Minister of Education and Sports, with the participation of representatives from relevant departments and sub-committees.

On this occasion, Mr. Kingmano Phommachack stated that the meeting aimed to allow sub-committees to report on their progress, discuss detailed work plans, and strengthen coordination to ensure thorough preparations for the successful hosting of AMMSTI-22. He emphasized that hosting the meeting is a matter of national pride and reflects the role and readiness of the Lao PDR in promoting cooperation in science, technology, and innovation within the ASEAN framework.

The Vice Minister urged all sub-committees to enhance coordination and carry out their responsibilities with a strong sense of accountability to ensure the smooth organization of both AMMSTI-22 and the 89th ASEAN Committee on Science, Technology, and Innovation (COSTI-89).

He further instructed the sub-committees to expedite consultations and focus on key areas, including the preparation of meeting content and technical documents, logistics and protocol arrangements, safety and security measures, financial management, and information and public relations activities.

The coordinated efforts of all concerned parties aim to ensure the successful organization of the meetings and leave a positive impression on ASEAN member states.
