Last weekend, the subcommittee responsible for organising the election of members of the 10th National Assembly (NA) and the 5th Provincial People’s Councils (PPC) in Hom District, Xaysomboun Province, conducted a dissemination activity to inform the public about key documents related to the upcoming elections for Constituency No. 18.
(KPL) Last weekend, the subcommittee responsible for organising the election of members of the 10th National Assembly (NA) and the 5th Provincial People’s Councils (PPC) in Hom District, Xaysomboun Province, conducted a dissemination activity to inform the public about key documents related to the upcoming elections for Constituency No. 18.
The activity was led by Mr. Thongkham Sibounheuang, Vice President of the Lao Front for National Development of Hom District, and was attended by local authorities and eligible voters from the community.
During the session, the delegation presented and explained several important documents to help voters better understand the election process. These included guidance on strengthening leadership and coordination for the organisation of the NA and PPC elections, educational materials in a question-and-answer format on the roles and functions of the National Assembly and Provincial People’s Councils, and guidelines aimed at promoting citizens’ democratic rights and participation in the electoral process.
The dissemination also covered action plans issued by the National Election Committee to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the elections, as well as explanations of the Law on the Election of Members of the National Assembly and Provincial People’s Councils, in order to ensure that the election process is carried out in a lawful, effective, and locally appropriate manner.
On this occasion, Mr. Yajao Lor, Village Chief of Nam Thuay, emphasised the importance of the upcoming elections and reaffirmed his commitment to encouraging all eligible residents to exercise their voting rights and participate actively in the polls.
At present, the subcommittee has completed the registration of eligible voters in the area. In Nam Thuay Village, approximately 200 residents aged 18 and above have been registered and are eligible to vote in the upcoming elections.
