(KPL) Following the conclusion of the review meeting on National Defense and Public Security for the four southern provinces, General Chansamone Chanyalath, Deputy Prime Minister of the Lao PDR, conducted an on-site inspection of key agricultural and industrial production bases in Paksong District, Champasak Province, on January 16.

The Deputy Prime Minister was accompanied by Mr. Alounxay Sounnalath, Governor of Champasak Province, Mr. Daovong Phonekeo, Governor of Salavan Province, along with senior officials from relevant sectors of both provinces.

During the visit, the delegation inspected two major investment projects playing an important role in local economic development: DPS International Joint Stock Company, a fruit juice processing factory, and Costa Berry Lao Co., Ltd., a commercial blueberry plantation.

At each site, the Deputy Prime Minister and his delegation were briefed on the enterprises’ background, development orientation, current production capacity, and future expansion plans. These projects were highlighted as concrete examples of the implementation of the Party and government’s resolution on building an independent and self-reliant economy in the new era.

The enterprises are contributing to the development of high-quality agricultural products for domestic markets and export, while also creating employment opportunities and generating stable income for local residents. Their operations have played a role in improving livelihoods and raising living standards in surrounding communities.

General Chansamone Chanyalath highly appreciated the effective investment and management of both companies and encouraged them to continue expanding production, applying modern technology, and strengthening value-added processing. He emphasized that such efforts would further support socio-economic development in Champasak Province and contribute to sustainable national economic growth.
