The Secretariat of the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic has announced a special campaign marking two momentous milestones in the nation’s history.
This year, the National Assembly will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its founding (December 2, 1975 - 2025), alongside the 105th birth anniversary of late President Kaysone Phomvihane, a pivotal leader in the country’s revolutionary history and a figure deeply respected by all Lao people.
To commemorate these significant events, the Secretariat has organized a series of educational and cultural activities aimed at fostering national pride and unity.
The campaign will highlight the National Assembly’s crucial contributions to the country’s governance, while reflecting on the leadership of President Kaysone Phomvihane and the many achievements of the Lao revolution in protecting and developing the nation.
As part of the celebration, the public, civil servants, students, and all interested parties are invited to visit a special exhibition at the National Assembly headquarters.
The exhibition will showcase a collection of historical photographs documenting the activities of the National Assembly over the past five decades, as well as a selection of artifacts, documents, and photos tracing the Assembly’s development from its inception to the present day.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to tour the modern conference rooms of the National Assembly, gaining insight into the institution’s current operations. Additionally, participants will be invited to sign a visitor’s book to share their thoughts and gratitude, and to take a group photo as a souvenir of this momentous occasion.
The exhibition will be open to the public from November 24-28, 2025, during regular office hours. This is a unique opportunity for citizens and visitors to learn more about the National Assembly’s vital role in Laos' governance and its contributions to the nation’s development.
