ຂປລ During the 10th Ordinary Session of the 9th National Assembly, held on 10 November 2025, National Assembly Member Mr. Siheng Homsombath, representing Constituency 14, Saravane Province, proposed that the government prioritise building a strong grassroots foundation and advancing rural development.

He emphasised that effective implementation of Party resolutions and laws is essential, noting that “if the grassroots foundation is strong, the nation will be strong.”

Mr. Siheng also called on the government to continue addressing key socio-economic challenges by promoting an independent, self-reliant economy, restructuring economic sectors, accelerating road construction and improvement, and enhancing disaster response measures. He further recommended streamlining administrative structures and clarifying laws and sub-legislation to ensure consistency with Party-State policy directions, forming a solid basis for the 2026–2030 national development plan.

He commended the government for maintaining stability and achieving economic growth over the past five years, with national budget revenue reaching 18% of GDP despite difficult conditions. He noted that Saravane Province has remained peaceful and secure, achieved economic growth of at least 5% annually, and exceeded revenue targets, enabling greater support for local development.
