Tropical Storm Fengshen is currently moving across the central part of the South China Sea and is forecast to continue its westward track toward the coast of Hainan Island between October 22 and 23, 2025, before approaching the coastal areas of the central and southern regions of Vietnam.
As the storm progresses inland, it is expected to affect weather conditions in the central and southern regions of the Lao PDR, bringing light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning across most areas, and heavy rainfall with strong winds in some localities.
Authorities have advised the multi-ethnic people, local administrations, and all relevant organizations in potentially affected areas to remain vigilant and take precautionary measures against possible hazards such as landslides, flash floods, and urban flooding, which may occur due to several consecutive days of heavy rainfall.
The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology urges the public to closely monitor weather updates and official warnings to ensure safety and preparedness as the storm continues to move westward.
