(KPL/Prensa Latina) Clinical trials of the new cancer vaccine Enteromix, involving nearly 50 volunteers, have begun in Russia, Andrey Kaprin, Director General of the National Medical Research Radiological Center, informed on Friday.

“Our institute is the first authorized to conduct an open, single-center, Phase I clinical trial with the Enteromix vaccine. It has already begun, and 48 volunteers have been recruited,” Kaprin said during this Friday’s session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2025).

The scientist said the vaccine, which successfully passed several years of preclinical trials, “is based on a combination of four non-pathogenic viruses that can destroy malignant cells and, at the same time, activate the patient’s antitumor immunity.”

SPIEF 2025 is taking place in St. Petersburg, northern Russia, from June 18 to 21. The Roscongress agency, attached to the Russian President’s office, organized the event.
