(KPL/VNA) A delegation from the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos led by Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam visited and presented gifts to students of the Nguyen Du Lao-Vietnamese Bilingual School and patients at the Hanoi-Vientiane Hospital in Vientiane on June 13.

The visits underscored the embassy's deep care for the Vietnamese community in Laos and served as a meaningful gesture highlighting the enduring solidarity and special friendship between the peoples of Vietnam and Laos.

At the Nguyen Du Bilingual School, the delegation presented 50 cartons of milk to students. The gifts carried heartfelt encouragement, aiming to motivate students in both their academic and personal development.

Ambassador Tam emphasised the importance of nurturing future generations, who will continue to uphold and develop the Vietnam-Laos great friendship. He expressed his hope that the school will maintain its proud tradition as a cradle for talent, thereby helping with the sustainable development of the two countries' special ties.

The meeting left a strong impression on the students, who expressed excitement and pride at receiving the care from the embassy. Many shared their appreciation for the unique educational environment shaped by both Vietnamese and Lao cultures, and their determination to study hard to become responsible citizens contributing to the special relations.

Following the school visit, the delegation travelled to the Hanoi-Vientiane Hospital, where many Vietnamese patients are under treatment. Ambassador Tam offered warm encouragement and personally handed out the milk gift to the patients. The visit brought comfort and renewed strength to those receiving care.

Many patients expressed sincere gratitude for the ambassador’s presence and support, noting that such gestures from the Vietnamese Embassy provide not only material assistance but also emotional reassurance and a strong sense of community.

The visit, embodying the Vietnamese tradition of mutual support, was a meaningful activity that helped deepen people-to-people ties and reinforce the time-honoured solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

The delegation will continue its outreach on June 14 with visits to the Lao Friendship Hospital and a social protection centre in Vientiane, offering further support to healthcare workers, patients, and vulnerable groups.
