(KPL) The Tourism Malaysia Organisation extended a unique opportunity for Lao sellers and buyers to participate in the ASEAN Tourism Products Exhibition 2025 (TRAVEX 2025), held from January 15-20, 2025.

The event served as a vital platform to foster cross-border cooperation, strengthen tourism ties, and promote cultural and natural heritage among ASEAN nations.

Mr. Ketasone Sundara, Director of Tourism Marketing Division at the Lao Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism, led the Lao delegation comprising 15 representatives from tourism and hotel sectors.

These representatives actively engaged as buyers and sellers, showcasing the nation’s tourism offerings and expanding their networks.

Highlighting the event was the participation of Landmark Riverside Hotel, which featured promotional materials emphasizing its services. Mr. Pingko Phonsavan, Deputy General Manager of Landmark Hotel, expressed his enthusiasm for returning to TRAVEX after participating in the 2024 event in Laos, emphasizing the significant role such exhibitions play in reaching regional and international customers.

Ms. Phonvilay Keovixay, General Manager of Enjoy Travel Company, underscored the importance of her company’s participation, noting that the Malaysian Tourism Organisation provided an invaluable platform to collaborate with regional partners. "These events are crucial for promoting tourism within ASEAN and establishing connections that drive business growth and market expansion," she stated.

Enjoy Travel’s 20 years of experience in the tourism sector—catering to markets from R. Korea, China, and Europe—enabled it to exchange valuable insights and discuss innovative ways to promote destinations within ASEAN, particularly between Malaysia and Laos.

Similarly, Mr. Sengdaoheung Vongphommala, Director of Phewigo Travel Company, praised the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism and Tourism Malaysia in supporting Lao businesses at TRAVEX 2025.

He highlighted the event’s significance in opening new markets and fostering partnerships with ASEAN counterparts.

TRAVEX 2025 reinforced Laos’ position as a vibrant travel destination, showcasing its potential and further integrating the country into the dynamic ASEAN tourism market. This participation marks another milestone in advancing mutual tourism growth within the region.
