ຂປລ On January 9, Laos and Vietnam introduced a QR code payment system connecting their retail payment networks to simplify transactions for tourists and businesses.

(KPL) On January 9, Laos and Vietnam introduced a QR code payment system connecting their retail payment networks to simplify transactions for tourists and businesses.
In the first phase, Vietnamese citizens can use QR codes in Laos, with Lao citizens gaining access in Vietnam by year-end. Participating banks include major institutions from both countries.
This initiative builds on similar systems with Thailand, Cambodia, and China, aiming to enhance regional payment connectivity.
