(KPL) The flood situation in Samnuea, the capital of Houaphan Province in
northern Laos, has returned to normal as water levels recede and transportation
routes resume regular operations. According to reports, there is no longer
rainfall affecting the area.
From September 21 to 22, a tropical depression brought heavy rain across
northern, central, and southern Laos, leading to flooding in some regions.
Samnuea was particularly hard-hit, with intense rainfall on September 22
causing widespread flooding that submerged streets and homes. However, as of
September 23, conditions have significantly improved.
In central Laos, moderate rainfall caused minor flooding in some areas, but
no severe damage was reported. Local authorities are keeping a close watch on
rising river levels.
