85% of tourists visit Luang Prabang travel via Laos-China Railway

ຂປລ (KPL) In the first 10 months of 2022, there were 335,794 tourists have visited Luang Prabang, accounting for 85.27% via the Laos-China Railway, according to Deputy Head of Information, Culture and Tourism Department, Mr. Chansamone Thipphavanh told on Nov 21.

(KPL) In the first 10 months of 2022, there were 335,794 tourists have visited Luang Prabang, accounting for 85.27% via the Laos-China Railway.According to Deputy Head of Information, Culture and Tourism Department, Mr. Chansamone Thipphavanh told on Nov 21.

There were more than 253,000 domestic tourists and 140,000 international tourists, generating a total of 138 million dollars for the tourism sectors.

Deputy Head of the Tourism Department of Luang Prabang province said: since the opening of the country on May 9, 2022, the development and promotion of tourism has gradually recovered and Luang Prabang is a destination for domestic and foreign tourists, especially traveling by airplane, train and connecting neighboring countries and regions in the world.

Some airlines have started to reopen its service and in the next 2 months of this year, there will be activities to celebrate the new year of Khmu, Hmong, which is expected to increase the number of tourists to Luang Prabang by more than 100,000 tourists and will generate more than 200 million dollars for the tourism sectors.

Currently, Luang Prabang province there were 228 tourist sites, of which 111 natural tourist sites, 78 cultural sites and 158 sites have opened services.
