Meta launches hybrid privacy education campaign “Your Profile, Your Home”

ຂປລ (KPL) Meta launched on Thursday its latest initiative ‘Your Profile, Your Home’ or #ເຮືອນຂອງຂ້ອຍ, a new educational hybrid experience which enables users to learn more through play and educate themselves on how to take control of their online presence through privacy and control settings.

 

(KPL) Meta launched on Thursday its latest initiative ‘Your Profile, Your Home’ or #ເຮືອນຂອງຂ້ອຍ, a new educational hybrid experience which enables users to learn more through play and educate themselves on how to take control of their online presence through privacy and control settings.

Starting from Sep 22, 2022, the #ເຮືອນຂອງຂ້ອຍ digital and interactive experience is available for the public and presented in Lao language at yourhome.fb.com/laos.  Users will be guided through play, customize their own digital home which is a representation of their privacy experience while stepping through educational areas. To bring a more wholesome and intimate learning experience, a physical pop-up installation #ເຮືອນຂອງຂ້ອຍ is available for everyone to learn more and receive free exclusive swags from Meta (while stocks last). Be sure to visit the #ເຮືອນຂອງຂ້ອຍ presented by Meta which is open to the public on September 22-23 (Thurs-Fri) at xxx FL, Parkson Laos.

The campaign demonstrates Meta’s ongoing effort to enhance digital literacy for Laotians and commitment to support the local communities, particularly in equipping them with the ability to control over how they share, learn how to use the privacy tools and features, personalize what ads they see, along with keeping their account secure on Meta platforms.

Speaking at the launch event to unveil the #ເຮືອນຂອງຂ້ອຍ hybrid experience, Arianne T. Jimenez, Meta’s Privacy and Public Policy Manager for Asia Pacific shared that “As part of our core mission to empower people in Laos with the knowledge and tools they need to secure their information online, we are so excited to launch ‘Your Profile, Your Home’ learning experience today. It is important everyone understands what they share online and we wanted to provide relatable ways for people in Laos to learn how to stay in control and give more transparency and control over the data they share.”

Joining the launch event was Pheakdey Heng, Meta’s Public Policy Manager for Cambodia & Laos said that “Helping Laos to build safe and positive online experience is one of our priorities that is ladder up to our goal to enhance digital literacy for the local community. We are grateful to be able to bring this experience to Laos and work with local partners such as tech and popular creators in Laos to get this message across and reach more people. We are inviting you to try out the #ເຮືອນຂອງຂ້ອຍ hybrid experience available on the website as well as an in-person experience where you can interact with the learning station and booths at Parkson Laos and have a fun learning experience with us.”

The #ເຮືອນຂອງຂ້ອຍ campaign is featuring a local collaboration with Laos’ popular creators and leading tech influencers including Sky Thakhek, Tam Jai Fan, Info, It’s awesome and Jipnoii who will share their experience and their tips to keep their online experience secure. Come and meet them in person during the talk session which will be held from 5.00-5.30 PM on Thursday and Friday at Parkson Laos. 

People can visit the #ເຮືອນຂອງຂ້ອຍ ‘(Your Profile, Your Home’) interactive website and customize their homes at yourhome.fb.com/laos. The physical pop-up installation is open to the public for free at Parkson Laos starting at 12 pm on Thursday, 22 September until 7 pm Friday 23 September.
