ຂປລ (KPL) The remains of national hero “Maj. Gen. Xiengsom Kounlavong” have been transferred to the National Cemetery (KM 24) in Xaythany, Vientiane where remains of other well-known heroes including late Presidents are kept. Maj. Gen. Xiengsom was a late politburo member of the Party and Deputy Minister of National Defense.

(KPL) The remains of national hero “Maj. Gen. Xiengsom Kounlavong” have been transferred to the National Cemetery (KM 24) in Xaythany, Vientiane where remains of other well-known heroes including late Presidents are kept.

Maj. Gen. Xiengsom was a late politburo member of the Party and Deputy Minister of National Defense.

A religious ceremony for restoring the remains of the Maj. Gen was held in Vientiane last Saturday with his remains being removed from Thepnimith Temple (Vat That Foun) and placed at the National Cemetery.

Taking part in the ceremony were President of the National Defence and Security Committee, Brig. Gen. Vilay Douangmany, high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Public Security, police officers, relevant officials, and the Kounlavong family and relatives.

When alive, Mr Xiengsom always upheld loyalty and was dedicated to learning the Party policy, laws of the government, national economic development plans, and national defence and security directives.
