The Department of Population Management and Civil Registration (Department 509) under the Ministry of Public Security will provide Digital ID Card application services and LAeID registration during Lao Digital Week 2026, scheduled for October 21–25 at the Lao-ITECC Shopping Center’s old building.
The department invites the public, including parents, civil servants, military personnel, police officers and students, to visit its exhibition booth during the five-day event, which will operate daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Visitors can apply for a Digital ID Card, receive assistance with installing and registering for the LAeID application, and learn how to use the app for secure digital identity verification. Department officials will also provide consultations on population registration and identification services.
Applicants for a Digital ID Card must bring their existing national identity card and family registration book. The family registration book must be presented either in its original form or as a colour photocopy.
Applicants are also advised to wear a collared shirt, such as a polo shirt, in any colour except white when applying for the card.
Through its participation in Lao Digital Week 2026, Department 509 aims to make digital identification services more accessible, raise public awareness of secure digital identity verification, and encourage wider use of digital services.
The public is encouraged to visit the booth to access the services and learn more about digital identification and civil registration in Laos.
