Prime Minister Saleumxay Kommasith received Myanmar Ambassador to Laos Aung Ko at the Prime Minister’s Office in Vientiane on October 7, 2026.
(KPL) During the meeting, Ambassador Aung Ko conveyed congratulations from the President, government and people of Myanmar to Mr Saleumxay on his appointment as Prime Minister of the Lao PDR and presented a basket of flowers on the occasion.
He expressed confidence that Prime Minister Saleumxay’s knowledge, experience and capabilities would help him address challenges and lead the country towards its development goals.
Prime Minister Saleumxay thanked the President, government and people of Myanmar for their warm congratulations and for Myanmar’s continued support and cooperation with Laos.
Both sides reaffirmed the importance of further strengthening relations and cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the areas of economy, trade, investment, education, public health and national defence.
They expressed their commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation for the mutual benefit of the two peoples and to bringing Laos–Myanmar relations to a higher level.
