The historic gathering takes place as the educational revolution to transform the state into a globally advanced country in education enters a new high stage, guided by the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).

Convened amid the special care of the Party and government, the conference aims to successfully attain the grand goals set by the Ninth Congress of the WPK, including the implementation of the second universal 12-year compulsory education programme. Delegates will review the implementation of educational policies over the past seven years since the 14th conference and discuss strategies for qualitative development.

Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the WPK and President of the State Affairs of the DPRK, attended the event. Upon his arrival, participants greeted him with stormy cheers, paying tribute to his leadership in advancing Juche-oriented education.

Present at the conference were exemplary educators, leading personnel from Pyongyang and local areas, and a delegation from the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon).

Kim Jong Un delivered an opening speech, stating that educational work remains the state's top-priority affair. He praised teachers as beneficent figures who nurture the rising generation, expressing deep trust in their role as builders of the country's future. He declared the conference open, prompting renewed cheers and the playing of the national anthem.

Following the opening address, Pak Thae Song, premier of the Cabinet, delivered a report reviewing the radical progress and remarkable achievements in education over the past seven years under the guidance of the WPK Central Committee. The report highlighted the transformation of educational structures, contents, and environments across both urban and rural areas.

The conference continues amidst high political enthusiasm as participants deliberate on fulfilling the educational development goals set forth by the Ninth Congress of the WPK.
