The event was jointly organized by the spouses of Party and State leaders and the Lao Handicraft Association. Participants included Madam Naly Sisoulith, spouse of the President and Chairperson of the Advisory Committee of the Lao Handicraft Association; Mrs. Suansavanh Viyaket, Minister of Culture and Tourism; spouses of Party and State leaders; and representatives of the Lao Women's Union from ministries, agencies and other organizations.
In her opening remarks, Madam Naly Sisoulith paid tribute to the important role of Lao women throughout the country's revolutionary history, noting their contributions both on the frontlines and behind the scenes during the struggle for national liberation, as well as their continued participation in politics, the economy, culture, society and national defense following the establishment of the Lao PDR.

She said the achievements of Lao women over the past seven decades represent a valuable legacy that should be preserved and further promoted to inspire future generations.
Speaking at the ceremony, Madam Souvita Prasert, President of the Lao Handicraft Association, reviewed the history of the Lao Women's Union, tracing its origins from the establishment of the Women's Work Research Unit in 1955 to the creation of the Lao Patriotic Women's Association in 1956 and its renaming as the Lao Women's Union during its first national congress in 1984.

The celebration featured traditional games and sports, including water-carrying races, coconut relay races, blindfolded pot-smashing and the traditional Mak Hae competition. Prizes, including awards for outstanding traditional ethnic costumes, were presented, with the total value of awards reaching approximately 40 million kip.
The event also included exhibitions of handicrafts, agricultural products, traditional food and local market goods, celebrating the rich cultural heritage and enduring contributions of Lao women to national development.
