A joint Lao-Thai rescue team successfully rescued five individuals trapped inside a cave in Long Cheng District, Xaysomboun Province, on May 30, 2026, despite difficult weather conditions marked by heavy rain and thunderstorms.
The rescue operation was conducted under challenging circumstances, with emergency responders and volunteers working tirelessly against time and adverse weather to ensure the safety of those trapped inside the cave.
All five individuals reached by rescue teams were safely evacuated and received appropriate assistance following the operation.
