(KPL) Authorities from Vientiane and Vientiane Province have signed a series of comprehensive cooperation memorandums aimed at strengthening coordination and advancing joint development.

The agreements were reached during a bilateral meeting held on April 22 at the Vientiane Administration Office, co-chaired by Atsaphangthong Siphandone, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Vientiane People’s Council, and Phouthanouphet Xaysombath, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Vientiane Province People’s Council.

Mr. Atsaphangthong said the cooperation marks an important milestone in promoting personnel exchanges and socio-economic development, ensuring that both localities move forward together.

Three Key Agreements

The two sides signed three memorandums of understanding (MOUs) covering party, legislative, and administrative cooperation:

Party Level: An agreement between the Party Committees of Vientiane and Vientiane Province, signed by both leaders.

Legislative Level: A cooperation MOU between the two People’s Councils for the 2026–2030 period.

Administrative Level: An agreement between the Vientiane Administration Committee and the Vientiane Province Administration Committee, signed by Sililadthongsin Thongpheng and Phouvong Bounsou, chairmen of the respective committees.

Officials say the agreements are expected to enhance coordination across sectors and support balanced, sustainable development between the capital and the surrounding province.
