Atsaphangthong Siphandone, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Vientiane Party Committee, on March 20, 2026 led a delegation in a wreath-laying ceremony to honor Kaysone Phomvihane, marking the 71st anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.
(KPL) Atsaphangthong Siphandone, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Vientiane Party Committee, on March 20, 2026 led a delegation in a wreath-laying ceremony to honor Kaysone Phomvihane, marking the 71st anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.
The ceremony, held at the Vientiane Administration Office, brought together members of the Party Committee, Administration Committee and the Vientiane People’s Council, who laid a floral wreath at the statue of the late leader.
Officials said the event paid tribute to Kaysone Phomvihane’s lifelong dedication to national liberation, protection and development.
They noted that under his leadership, Laos advanced from colonial rule to independence and sovereignty, securing its place on the international stage.
Kaysone Phomvihane is remembered as a national hero and a symbol of unity among the country’s multi-ethnic population, with his legacy continuing to guide Party members and citizens.
During the ceremony, Atsaphangthong Siphandone and senior officials observed a moment of silence in tribute to the late President’s contributions.
Officials said the event also aimed to strengthen unity and encourage continued implementation of Party resolutions, including those of the 12th National Party Congress and the 8th Vientiane Party Congress.
The ceremony concluded with a renewed commitment to advancing national development and upholding the revolutionary ideals of Kaysone Phomvihane.
