(KPL) Khammouane Province organized a cycling event on March 14 to celebrate the designation of Hin Nam No National Park as Laos’ first UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site.
The activity also commemorated the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Disabled and Fallen Heroes (March 21, 1946–2026). The event was held at the President Souphanouvong Monument and aimed to promote health, sports participation, and national unity.
The ceremony was presided over by Xaysana Khotphouthone, with participation from provincial leaders, cycling associations, and local residents.
Participants cycled along National Highway 13, starting from the President Souphanouvong Monument to the Ethnic Boarding School, covering a round-trip distance of over 20 kilometres.
The event also featured two competitive races for the Provincial Party Secretary’s Trophy: a senior mountain bike category (60 years and above) covering 8 kilometres, and a youth road bike category (20 years and above) covering 20 kilometres.
During the ceremony, a high-performance bicycle valued at 21 million Kip was donated by DM Group Co., Ltd. to support the Khammouane provincial cycling team as they prepare for a national-level competition in Thailand on March 27, 2026.
