On February 2, 2026, Mr. Khampha Xayxaeng, Head of the Sekong Provincial Propaganda and Training Committee and a member of the Provincial Election Committee, together with his delegation, visited Kaleum District to monitor and promote election preparedness in the district’s electoral zone.
Mr. Saykham Kaewbounphan, District Party Secretary and Chairman of the Kaleum District Election Committee, reported that preparations at all stages have been completed and are now fully ready. These include training and dissemination of election-related laws for key personnel, namely members of the District Election Committee, sub-committees, and polling station heads, as well as the installation of campaign banners at designated locations throughout the district.
The district has established 20 polling stations (excluding those for armed forces personnel), with 11,691 registered voters, including 5,383 women. Polling stations have been designated, and voter data collection has been finalized in accordance with election regulations.
Mr. Saykham further noted that sub-committees and polling station teams have been instructed to strictly implement their assigned duties, with particular emphasis on public information, education, and outreach among ethnic communities, to ensure voters are well informed and able to exercise their rights. The district aims to achieve full voter participation, in line with the four objectives and targets set for the successful conduct of the upcoming elections.
