Highlights from the Opening Speech
Mr Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune officially opened the ceremony with a keynote speech.
Over the past 70 years, the working class has demonstrated high political awareness, a strong revolutionary spirit, and strict discipline.
Workers have consistently acted in the best interests of labourers and have shown true sacrifice for the nation and its people.
The working class is a core pillar in the establishment of communist parties worldwide.
Evolution of Lao Labor
While the Lao working class emerged primarily from a farming background, they have sacrificed their lives for the revolutionary struggle. Through the Party’s guidance and training, they have matured into a dedicated workforce with a true working-class perspective.
Achievements and Progress
Mr Let Sayaphone reported on the growth of the organization over the seven decades, noting that the LFTU has expanded in both quantity and quality, successfully holding 9 National Congresses of Lao Trade Union Delegates to date.
The federation has integrated the Party’s comprehensive renewal policies into practical work, focusing on the National Socio-Economic Development Plan.
Political Education
A primary focus has been the political and ideological education of staff, members, and workers. This includes promoting Party policies, state laws, and the fine traditions of the nation and the international labour movement.
Through various media channels and training programs, members have improved their revolutionary ethics and work methods, significantly raising the LFTU’s profile both domestically and internationally.
Special Recognition
During the ceremony, the Lao Federation of Trade Unions Central Committee was awarded the Issala Order (Class III) in recognition of its outstanding achievements and contributions to trade union activities throughout the past 70 years.
