(KPL) A new milestone in the development of digital payment services in the aviation sector has been marked with the launch of an integrated payment gateway between Star Fintech Company Limited, operating uMoney, and Lao Airlines State Enterprise.
The official signing ceremony was held on January 13 at Unitel Headquarters. The agreement was signed by Ha Jian Thang, Director of Star Fintech Company Limited, and Sithidet Douangsithi, Deputy Director of Lao Airlines.
The partnership aims to enhance convenience for the Lao public by enabling passengers to purchase Lao Airlines tickets quickly, efficiently, and securely using uMoney or other local bank accounts through the airline’s official application and website.
This collaboration represents a significant breakthrough in addressing previous payment limitations. For the first time, uMoney users and customers of all banking applications in Laos can fully utilize digital payment systems to pay for airline tickets.
As the national carrier and the country’s largest aviation service provider, Lao Airlines continues to improve service quality while maintaining international standards and strengthening connectivity between urban centers and remote areas.
The new payment gateway is expected to significantly enhance the customer experience by simplifying the booking and payment process, allowing passengers to plan their travel more efficiently.
The initiative also reflects uMoney’s commitment to supporting digital transformation and promoting cashless payments across key service sectors, under the slogan, “uMoney – Your Airlines Buddy.”
