(KPL) On December 12, 2025 — The Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed concern over the ongoing tensions along the Cambodia–Thailand border.
As a neighbour to both countries, the Lao PDR called on Cambodia and Thailand to exercise restraint and avoid the use of force. The statement urged both sides to act in the spirit of friendship as ASEAN member states and to resume implementation of the Kuala Lumpur Joint Declaration, which was signed on 26 October 2025.
The Lao PDR also encouraged the two countries to make full use of existing mechanisms to resolve the situation through peaceful means.
