Festive Experiences

Discover the soul of Luang Prabang through captivating cultural immersions: Storytelling with Garavek: Step into a world of ancient tales and local legends on December 24 and 31, 2025.

As dusk settles from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., The Lawn at The Great House becomes an open-air theatre where renowned Garavek storytellers, accompanied by the melodies of the traditional khene, transport guests through the folklores of the region.

This journey offers a rare glimpse into Laos’ rich oral traditions.

Blessing Ceremony  

Begin 2026 with grace and good fortune. On January 1, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at The Lawn at The Great House, partake in a traditional Lao Baci Ceremony. This poignant ritual, deeply rooted in local belief, is an expression of friendship and an offering of blessings for peace, prosperity, and harmony in the New Year, connecting guests to the heart of Lao spiritual customs.

Holiday Feasts

Throughout December, Rosewood Luang Prabang’s kitchen will craft a series of gastronomic journeys, each designed to celebrate the season's bounty:

Melted Indulgence: Evenings at The Great House invite guests to surrender to a signature cheese fondue. This warm, creamy, and irresistibly indulgent experience is served with a generous array of artisan breads, crisp garden vegetables, and savory accompaniments – the quintessential comfort to share for dinner, available from December 1-31.

Truffle Season at The Great House: December unfolds as an ode to the rich, earthy allure of black truffles. 

 

Experiences seasonal occasions, Chef Ann Dinner 

For lunch and dinner, the à la cartemenu includes dishes such as Organic Luang Prabang Asparagus with delicate shavings, Mushroom Velouté, Seared Hokkaido Scallops, and Slow-Braised Beef Cheek in Truffle Jus.

A limited-time epicurean adventure not to be missed. Available from December 1 -31. Festive Afternoon Tea: Elevate your afternoons between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., with a refined tea experience. Indulge in an array of holiday -inspired savories, exquisite pastries, and delightful sweets, perfectly paired with a selection of fine teas.

This cherished ritual can be enjoyed at The Great House, amidst the vibrant setting of The Elephant Bridge Bar, or in the serene privacy of your own guest room. Available from December 1 -31. A Culinary Collaboration: From December 24 - 31, 2025, The Great House welcomes Chef Steve Lancaster for a landmark week-long residency, where he will preside over the season’s most anticipated feasts. 

 

Chef Steve Lancaster 

Formerly of the Michelin-starred restaurant Poise in Singapore and with a career forged in world-renowned kitchens like The Fat Duck and Oaxen Krog, Chef Lancaster will shape the holiday's key culinary moments.

His residency begins on Christmas Eve with an enchanting five -course dinner, where traditional highlights are savored by the fire and complemented by the sounds of a Christmas choir. It culminates on New Year's Eve with a celebratory six -course gala, complemented by live music throughout the night. Both evenings will be crowned with a lavish dessert and cheese buffet, featuring selections from Laos’s Buffalo Dairy Farm and the finest from France.
