ຂປລ In response to the official invitation extended by Supreme Leader of DPRK Kim Jong Un, President Thongloun Sisoulith, will lead a high-level delegation of the Party and Government of the Lao PDR on an official visit to DPRK from October 7 to 8, 2025.

The upcoming visit aims to further deepen and expand the traditional bonds of friendship, solidarity, and cooperation between the Lao PDR and the DPRK.

The longstanding relations have been carefully nurtured through decades of mutual support and shared revolutionary ideals between the two Parties, Governments, and peoples.

This official visit also coincides with several historic milestones. It will serve to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the first historic meeting between President Kaysone Phomvihane, the beloved founding leader of the Lao PDR, and President Kim Il Sung, the great leader of the Korean people. This significant meeting took place in Pyongyang on October 28, 1965, and laid the foundation for the enduring relationship between the two nations.

Moreover, the visit will mark the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers’ Party of Korea, to be observed on October 10, 2025, and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
