(KPL) The Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism is hosting a photo exhibition to mark the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification of Vietnam (April 30, 1975–2025).

The event, held from April 30 to May 2, 2025, at the National Cultural Hall in Vientiane, offers the public and tourists an opportunity to explore the historical significance of this momentous day.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister Suansavanh Viyaket underscored the historic importance of the Ho Chi Minh Campaign’s victory on April 30, 1975. She noted that throughout history, high-ranking leaders, experts, volunteer soldiers, and people of Laos and Vietnam have maintained close ties, exchanging experiences and supporting each other’s national development.

“The victory was not only a triumph for Vietnam but also a shared success of the Laos-Vietnam combat alliance and the three Indochinese nations—Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia,” the minister emphasized. This victory laid the foundation for Vietnam’s political stability, sustained economic growth, and improved living standards, transforming it into a stronger, more prosperous nation.

The exhibition showcases 120 photographs that vividly portray the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.

“This victory is also our victory—it inspires us in safeguarding and developing our nation,” said Minister Suansavanh Viyaket, quoting President Thongloun Sisoulith. “His words underscore Laos’ unwavering commitment to deepening the enduring bond between our two nations across all fields, ensuring mutual prosperity for generations to come.”

The great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam stand as a precious legacy, one that will only grow stronger and be cherished by future generations.
