(KPL) President Thongloun Sisoulith has extended warm Pi Mai Lao (Lao New Year, B.E. 2568) greetings to the people of Laos, expressing appreciation for their unity and commitment in advancing national development.
In his New Year address, President Thongloun praised the enduring spirit of solidarity and national ownership that has underpinned the Lao people's efforts to implement the Party’s and government’s policies over the past year.
“This New Year arrives amid continued global and regional complexities, which inevitably affect our country and our people,” he said. “Nevertheless, we regard it as a year of opportunity and hope — one in which we strive to guide our nation toward a brighter future.”
The President noted that 2025 marks the final year for executing several key national strategies, including the resolutions of the 11th National Congress of the Party and the 9th Five-Year National Socio-Economic Development Plan.
“It is also a year of reflection and celebration, as we commemorate significant milestones in the history of our Party and our nation,” he added. “We must unite with determination to deliver tangible results as we prepare for the 12th National Congress.”
President Thongloun also emphasized ongoing efforts to deepen the implementation of new policy directions, enhance structural efficiency, and apply effective solutions to overcome economic and financial challenges. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to building a resilient, independent economy that meets the demands of modern development.
“These efforts will lay the groundwork for strong, green, and sustainable growth in the years ahead,” he said.
He concluded by wishing peace, good health, and prosperity to all Lao citizens, encouraging continued cooperation to ensure the country’s steady and resilient progress.
