(KPL) Deputy Prime Minister Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune welcomed Mr. Liao Lin, Chairman of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), and his delegation during their official visit to Laos.
DPM Kikeo highly valued Mr. Liao Lin’s visit and recognized the key role of ICBC’s Vientiane branch in Laos’ socio-economic development. He highlighted the strong Laos-China ties and the positive impact of ICBC in fostering economic growth, particularly in job creation and strengthening the country’s financial infrastructure.
He also commended the bank’s contributions to trade, investment, infrastructure development, renewable energy projects, tourism, and international relations, emphasizing that ICBC’s presence in Laos is crucial for the country’s long-term prosperity.
In response, Mr. Liao Lin expressed his appreciation for the warm hospitality and reaffirmed ICBC’s commitment to supporting Laos’ economic growth and regional integration.
He praised the progress of the Lao financial sector and highlighted ICBC’s efforts in expanding financial services, promoting digital banking, and facilitating cross-border transactions between China and Laos.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to deepening cooperation between ICBC Vientiane and Laos, ensuring long-term economic success and regional connectivity.
