(KPL)The China Cultural Center in Laos organized a special event "Tea to Peace," marking a significant cultural exchange between Laos and China. The event celebrated the launch of a new seasonal tea, alongside the opening of a Chinese language learning classroom for the 2025 academic year.
The ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including Ms. Li Yiping, Director of the China Cultural Center in Laos, and Ms. Benchamat Phonxiengdy, Deputy Director of the Lao Tourism Association, as well as several invited guests.

The highlight of the event was a stunning tea performance by artists from Huojiao City in China, who showcased intricate tea preparation movements, enhanced by the aromatic fragrance of a special tea. Known for its "green, strong, long-lasting, and delicate" characteristics, this tea has been a staple since the Tang Dynasty. Selected as one of the top 1 out of 24 prestigious tea varieties in China, it is recognized as an intangible cultural heritage due to its unique production method.

Mr. Sun Penhsou, head of the Industrial Development Department of Huojiao City, emphasized the role tea has played in fostering enduring friendship between Laos and China. He highlighted the shared cultural connections and natural landscapes that bind the two nations. According to Mr. Sun, the relationship between Laos and China is like the flowing water that connects two rivers, a vital link that continues to strengthen over generations.

The event symbolized not only the rich cultural ties between the two countries but also the ongoing commitment to cultural exchange and mutual understanding.
