(KPL) The 11th Plenary Session of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party opened on February 24, 2025, under the chairmanship of Comrade Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Party’s Central Committee and State President.
The two-day session will focus on key national and Party issues, including proposed amendments to the 2015 Constitution, revisions to the Law on Local Administration, and the establishment of taxeng (communes). The session will provide strategic guidance on these matters, with its outcomes to be submitted to the second extraordinary session of the 9th National Assembly, scheduled for mid-March.
Discussions also cover Laos' foreign relations, future international cooperation, and preparations for the 12th Party Congress.
During the session, Comrade Thongloun Sisoulith emphasized the importance of thorough study, debate, and decision-making on these critical issues to advance the innovation policy, strengthen the people's democratic state, and implement the resolutions of the 11th Party Congress and previous Party Central Committee decisions. These efforts will lay the foundation for the 12th Party Congress in 2026.
