(KPL) On December 31, 2024, Huaphanh Province hosted a grand International New Year celebration at the Huaphanh-Thanh Hua Park, marking the transition to 2025 with cultural pride and modern festivities.

The event, attended by Governor Khampheng Xaysompheng, provincial leaders, retired senior officials, former provincial leaders, department heads, local and international business representatives, and a large public gathering, showcased a harmonious blend of Lao traditions and contemporary entertainment.

The celebration emphasized the preservation of Lao culture through traditional music and dance performances, artistic displays, and a fusion of Lao and international music. A standout feature of the evening was the Lamvong Lao, recently inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage list, highlighting the nation’s rich cultural heritage.

Attendees enjoyed diverse performances from literary and arts groups, students from the province, and a fashion show featuring the unique styles of Huaphanh’s nine ethnic groups. These events aimed to strengthen solidarity among party-state leaders, civil servants, soldiers, police, and people from all ethnic backgrounds in the province.

In his address, Governor Khampheng extended New Year wishes to the provincial party committee, retired leaders, department heads, domestic and international business representatives, and the people of Huaphanh. He wished them health, happiness, and prosperity and encouraged continued efforts toward the province’s development, inspiring collective progress in 2025.

The vibrant celebration underscored the province’s commitment to cultural preservation and community unity while embracing the opportunities of the coming year.
